Nominations are open for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2015 Awards, celebrating innovative business leaders who turn vision into reality.
Minneapolis, 21 January 2015 – EY is calling for nominations for the 29th Annual EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards, recognized as one of the most prestigious business award programs in the country. Recent US national winners include: Hamid Moghadam, CEO and Chairman of Prologis; Reid Hoffman and Jeff Weiner, Chairman and CEO of LinkedIn; Hamdi Ulukaya founder of Chobani; and 2014 winner Dr. David Hung, President and CEO of Medivation.
Each year, EY showcases successful entrepreneurs from more than 145 cities in 60 countries. In 2014, 24 outstanding business leaders from across Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota were celebrated as EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award Upper Midwest region finalists. Ten of these entrepreneurs were named award recipients, including Chris Policinski of Land O’Lakes, Amy Nelson of Accurate Home Care, Thomas Ahern and Robert Coghlan of Capstone, Matthew Dornquast of Code42, Eric McDonald DocuTAP, Greg and Nancy Thrasher of Foundation Supportworks, Inc., Zach Halmstad and Chip Pearson of JAMF Software, Scott Litman and Dan Mallin of Magnet 360, Brenton Hayden of Renters Warehouse and Van Miller of VGM Group, Inc.
A look at the 663 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014 US finalists, reveals how they are surpassing benchmarks for high impact entrepreneurship by a large margin. They particularly excel in the areas of revenue growth, with median sales growth of more than 30% per year in each of the last two years, and growth in average headcount of more than 30% over the same period.
“For almost 30 years, we have had the privilege to honor many high impact individuals through our Entrepreneur Of The Year Program,” said Todd Papa Upper Midwest Program Director, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year. “These leaders drive high growth, innovative companies that disrupt industries, create new jobs and give back to their communities.”
Award winners are selected in a number of industry categories by a panel of independent regional judges, including previous winners of the award, leading CEOs and private capital investors and other regional business leaders. Entrepreneurs may nominate themselves or be nominated by peers and other business leaders.
The Upper Midwest’s awards ceremony is scheduled for June 10, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Minneapolis. The Entrepreneur Of The Year Program honors entrepreneurs regionally in June. All regional honorees are then invited to the Entrepreneur Of The Year National gala, on November 14, 2015 in Palm Springs, California. The gala is the culminating event of the EY Strategic Growth Forum®, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
