They particularly excel in the areas of revenue growth, with median sales growth of more than 30% per year in each of the last two years, and growth in average headcount of more than 30% over the same period.
“For almost 30 years, we have had the privilege of getting to know many high impact entrepreneurs through our Entrepreneur Of The Year Program,” said Mike Kacsmar, Americas Director, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year. “The entrepreneurs we have honored lead highly disruptive companies in their industries and create a lion’s share of new job creation in the economy.”
Award winners are selected in a number of industry categories by a panel of independent regional judges, including previous winners of the award, leading CEOs and private capital investors and other regional business leaders. Entrepreneurs may nominate themselves or be nominated by peers and other business leaders.
“The entrepreneurs we have honored through the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Program are creating high growth companies and causing a positive ripple effect in our communities, our capital markets and our economy. We are proud to recognize them,” said Angie Kelly, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Program Director for Michigan and Northwest Ohio.
The program has a firm deadline of March 6, 2015 for nominations, with the Michigan and Northwest Ohio awards ceremony scheduled for June 11, 2015 at Cobo Center Grand Ballroom in Detroit.
The Entrepreneur Of The Year Program honors entrepreneurs regionally in June.
