DMJ to Participate in CPA Day of Service
Greensboro, NC, September 19, 2014- Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP (DMJ) will participate in the NC Association of CPA’s (NCACPA) “CPA Day of Service” event on Friday, October 3, 2014. Professionals in Greensboro and Sanford offices will dedicate volunteer hours and address the needs of community partners including:
- Senior Resources of Guilford serves a diverse community of seniors and their families by advocating and providing supportive services that enhance independence, health, and quality of life for seniors.
- After Gateway is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for adults with multiple and/or severe developmental disabilities.
- Triad Health Project provides emotional and practical support to individuals living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. It also educates those at risk and advocates for local, regional, and national individuals and groups infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
- Out of the Garden Project is a food assistance program for families primarily in Guilford County. It aims to give food and hope for every child through its mobile and stationary food pantries and reaches more than 900 families each week.
The NCACPA’s Day of Service is an annual event and allows individuals, firms, and groups to join forces to give back to charitable organizations of their choice. The association currently serves as the voice of more than 13,000 members in North Carolina. DMJ supports the NCACPA through professional membership and has many leaders serve on NCACPA task forces and committees. DMJ Partner Arthur M. Winstead, CPA is currently a member of the NCACPA’s board of directors.
Community is important to DMJ. Throughout the year, DMJ professionals serve and volunteer through committees, nonprofit board involvement, and donate personal time to local organizations. Whether it is a food or supply drive, a holiday giving program, or “polar plunging” for Special Olympics, DMJ is privileged to serve the community.
